Love the show and recent convert to Savage Worlds! I just played Realms and was very impressed. Cool system.
Also thought you guys might be into my podcast, The H.P. Lovecraft Literary Podcast (www.hppodcraft.com). Each we we discuss a story by HPL himself. It's sorta funny, kind of irreverent and totally full of cool HPL stuff. We've had some excellent guests like Andrew Leman (Dir. of The Call of Cthulhu movie) and Kenneth Hite.
Love your show!

Great episode, I wanted to put in a counterpoint that I learned while doing Wraith: The Great War back in the day. I had previously bought into the "you should dim the lights and be spooky in the real world" theory until that game, when someone said, you know, my guy is a soldier who was born in 1895. He died at age 20 in Ypres. The things he is scared of are not the things I am scared of. The way he gets scared is different from the way I get scared. Scaring me just makes it harder for me to understand, connect with, and roleplay his fear. I need to think about how someone in his position would feel and act when they are afraid. When you are scaring me, I can't think about that. Your lighting and creepy real lifedness is getting in the way of the roleplay.
Ever since then I've done my best horror gaming in nicely lit, comfortable rooms with plenty of snacks and cats around.
